A Bright Happy Version of Churn, Baby, Churn Baby Quilt

Before I put my Churn, Baby, Churn pattern up for sale I asked a quilting friend to test the pattern for me. She just happens to be expecting a new baby this summer too!

I took this photo from Kristy's post so you could see the two quilts together. Fun, eh! You can make the quilt with 36 - 10 inch squares from a layer cake or cut your own. Kristy used a mix of fabrics by Pat Sloan.

Baby Quilt Reveal

I can finally reveal this baby quilt because my nephew has arrived!

You can find the free pattern for these 5 inch blocks at the Temecula Quilt Company blog. (It's in the left hand sidebar with the heading 25th anniversary)

I quilted it on my domestic machine with straight lines to make a checkerboard over the entire quilt. This way the quilting would be even over the entire quilt top.

You can see the quilt with the baby on it at my sister's blog, Stitch 2, Write 1.
She has photos of the flannel monsters I put on the back too.

You might even want to encourage her to pick a name for my nephew, already!

Proof of Progress

I have been quilting, really! Here's some proof.
My daughter was generous enough to hold up this quilt top in progress.
It's called Traffic Jam and is designed by Pat Sloan.
Soon the pattern will be available on her website if you haven't been receiving her newsletter.
I have enough blocks left to add two more rows.
The bigger this quilt gets the more questions I get as to whose quilt this will be. . .?

I also completed a baby quilt for my sister's baby that is due by the end of April.
I'll share the whole quilt once the baby has arrived.
This is a sneak peek of my favourite block on the quilt;)
