Heart Wall hanging tutorial ~ QUILTsocial project

>> Monday, December 27, 2021

My last project for the year over at QUILTsocial is a heart wall hanging.

I really enjoyed using some new fabric for the inspiration of this piece. I finally played in my selvages again too!

Use your selvage strips to make an adorable heart wall quilt

It's all about the embellishments

It was a joy to make the ribbon stitch on the wall hanging; the ribbon I used is velvet on one side so the texture changes as it gets flipped back and forth down the heart.

2 beautiful stitches and ribbon to embellish your quilt

This project felt more like quilt art than most of what I create. You could customize this project using favorite fabrics, theme fabrics or special keepsake or even vintage fabrics.

Stitch in the ditch - it's what you use not what you know

I think a quilt of these giant hearts would be cool! You could also use it as a banner to display a collection of pins in your sewing room.

I heart ruler quilting - read this and you will too

Enjoy checking out this project over at QUILTsocial;leave me a comment there too! If you have some extra browsing time, enjoy the projects designed by others too while you're there!

With Joy,
