UFO Weekend

Pat Sloan is hosting a UFO busting weekend.
Click over for the details, pick something, and go for it!

My UFO - Lucky Charms

This was a quilt along pattern by Pat Sloan at the Old Red Barn blog a while ago now!
I want this one done next because I'd like to give it away before I move at the end of the summer.

Earlier this week I finished sewing the centre. I blanket stitched with my machine around all the flowers and stems. I only needed to finish some of the green stems and then stitch around all the petal with peach thread.

Here you can see a little bit how I'm quilting the corners.
I enlarged the flower motif  and added a few circles.

I draw the design on freezer paper then stitch on the lines {or almost on the lines} with a smaller stitch.
This corner I didn't iron the freezer paper down. It was a pretty crinkly job!

Yesterday I got my second corner done. This time I ironed the freezer paper down and found it went a little better.

This weekend I have
  •  2 more corners to quilt
  • sleeve to make and attach
  • binding to make and attach
  • label to make and attach

We'll see how far I can get!

While I had the peach thread out, I finally pinned and stitched around the petals on my Follow Your Bliss quilt!

Not sure I will do much more on this one over the weekend, BUT at least it is now officially 'in the queue'!

Will you do any UFO busting this weekend?
