OP Progress

The OP virtual quilting retreat was hosted by Pat Sloan Feb. 20 -22 (here's the link to the beginning of the retreat - http://patsloan.typepad.com/pat_sloans_corner/2009/02/sew-along-the-op.html ). I got really ambitious and am working on making my blocks into a twin size quilt.

I have all the blocks assembled and one side of piano keys. I like the setting of the blocks, suggested by my sister, but the blocks didn't join perfectly - as I didn't make them perfectly! So I'm hoping to literally press it out flatter. I also measured the length I have so far and have decided to add a row of piano keys at the bottom as well. Plus, check out my little "fix it" opportunity.

When I joined the border piece - the orange piano keys - to the main quilt body it came up a little short. I'm glad I opted to put the orange next to the body because all those seams wouldn't have been fun to line up. I'll enjoy them when binding!

While I'd love to just get this quilt DONE I'd also like it to end up Useful so I'm going to take the time to make it a good size.

I'm planning to tie this quilt. Stay tuned...
