Couldn't resist the blank slate - or should I say, sewing table! Today I ventured forth with the NEW book by Kay Mackenzie "Easy Applique Blocks: 50 Designs in 5 Sizes". The NEW book that I WON following her blog tour! And here is the fruit of my labours:

I love it! It's the perfect size to fit on the very obvious closet you see when you come in our side entry. I used the CD and chose the 10 inch block. Printed no problem. And fussy cut some batik fabric scraps my sister just gave me. I have been hunting, seriously hunting, for a pineapple welcome quilt and so glad I found this one. Check out Kay's blog. She has the best list of applique resources I've found yet. Lots of links to other quilters and designers. Her blog is a great read too.
I'm not completely done. My seam from doing the envelope method of putting the quilt together still needs sewn shut. I will do a little quilting on it. Then it will hang on it's proper nail. Tonight I need to put the fabric AWAY from this project, maybe work on my little April stockings, and cut fabric for my daughter's Christmas Cousin Challenge blocks. (more on that another time)
EnJoY your evening, Sarah Vee
