Sunbeams Quilt Pattern

This quilt pattern, Sunbeams, was designed for the Here Comes the Sun fabric line by Clara Jean for Dear Stella.

Sunbeams quilt pattern Sew Joy Creations

There are several print fabrics in the line that I wanted to feature in the pattern. By having large quilt blocks I was able to have large areas to show off cute animals and flowers. There are porcupines with floral quills, ladybugs, a kitty garden and butterflies in this line!

The pattern is also a quick make because of the large blocks! The value of the fabric is played with in the blocks to make it look like sunlight is falling on the quilt. Sunbeams!

The large areas in the blocks could also feature word prints or sport team logos. Novelty prints would also shine making it easy to create a theme quilt for a birthday quilt for a special child.

The pattern can be made up in a variety of fabric styles, from floral to solids and everything in between!

Sunbeams Good Vibes fabric

Here is Sunbeams made up in Christa Watson's new line, Good Vibes. It will be available July 2020. The many geometric prints play nicely together using the cool blues and greens in this line.

The Sunbeams pattern includes 3 sizes, lap (40" x 60")
twin (60" x 80" - this is the size on the pattern cover)
and queen (80" x 100")

A modern quilt design with no borders and large blocks. This would be a fun pattern to make with a new quilter - or as a new quilter!, but also to explore colour value and play with directional fabric.

It is also available through Quiltwoman,
with the option to purchase a paper pattern.
