My September String Blocks

The pumpkin project from Sandy Gervais during the Fall-o-ween hop.
No wool here, so I used a piece of homespun for the pumpkin that I've had in my stash for 5 years or so!!
I did the blanket stitch by hand and tried to make the pumpkin look dimensional with some stitching.
Still need to do the stem and decide how I'm hanging it.
It's small - 12 x 15 inches.
I really liked using up my pre-cut 2 1/2 inch orange squares for the background.

The start of Fall always invigorates me - the cooler temperatures, bright fall leaves and the chance to do more baking! So, of course, I also took the opportunity to completely overhaul my sewing space!! More photos of the changes this week. (To see what it looked like in January, click here)

Here's a look at my sewing machine nook now:

I finally hung up a spool rack. This one I received as a wedding shower gift - 14 years ago! I took off the polyester threads and my daughter put our humble thread stash on display. She says we need more thread - I agree!

With Joy,
Sarah Vee
