Wonky Stars and Lucky Charms

>> Saturday, September 4, 2010

One pink and one yellow wonky star for Tong, September's Sew Modern Bee Queen. These were fun to make. I can see using a black background and making bright, wonky stars all over it. Check out Tong's blog to see her plan for these blocks - a very special quilt!

This is the beginning of my 'reward' project - Pat Sloan's Lucky Charms Sew A Long. The link takes you to her free pattern page. Lots of fun there!

I'm using a Fig and Plum charm pack that I bought a few years ago on sale. My first charm pack. They are not as common, or perhaps I should say, Moda fabrics are not as common in Canadian quilt shops so it's hard to find them.

Anyway, this is quite a different colour range than I usually play with - and I usually don't. I love the look and 'feel' of the quilts soft colours create, but they don't make me creative. So I'm using them up in this quilt that I plan to use as a birthday gift. If I can give it away! My daughter has already hinted it matches her new purple room!

With Joy,
Sarah Vee
