This Week's Piecing Progress

>> Saturday, September 11, 2010

I've completed the piecing for Pat Sloan's Lucky Charms. Next up is deciding on fabrics for the centre applique and the skinny border between the centre and the corners. This pink I'm auditioning here is another fabric from Granny's stash. If I don't use it on this project, it's going to get cut up into squares and strips and get used up in other ways.

I'm ahead a week with my September strings! Could be because I've actually been making things again and cutting into different fabrics. It feels good to be ahead on something.

Yesterday I actually started to sew together squares for my Halloween 1904 quilt. I've decided this is going to be what I use as my 'leader and ender' pieces for the rest of the year. Yay! I can't wait to hold this quilt finished.

My quilt projects are almost at the exciting stage for me where I only have 2 different kinds on the go - the 'just needs to be quilted' pile , and the 'cut to start something new' pile. Almost nothing sitting here to be pieced {until I start cutting the fabrics}.

Exciting times here at Sew Joy!
