Quilt Show

My local quilt guild held our quilt show the weekend of October 19 and 20. I was happy to have several quilts to hang in the show - my first!

Monterrey Medallion Atkinson Designs

I finally got the chance for  a full picture of my Monterrey Medallion (by Atikinson Designs). It turned out great! It's for my daughter and she chose the pantograph quilted by my local quilt shop owner. We decided on a light yellow thread for the front and a beige for the back. I just realized I don't have a good photo of the back - my daughter picked out the backing too. I'm glad to have the quilt done for her, now it's a just a matter of figuring out how to get it to her for this winter.

Blissful Butterflies Banyan Batiks

I also hung by Blissful Butterflies quilt as it had returned home after being photographed for A Needle Pulling Thread, issue 49. This quilt is made up of Banyan batiks. I quilted it myself with various feather looking leaves. One of my quilting friends remarked that she kept looking for one of the butterflies to be going in a different direction because she knew it was mine. I guess I have a reputation for going my own way ;)

I brought my son along to help me get some photos with my quilts. This one I'm satisfied with out of the many! I think it's important we get our photos taken with our quilts to keep a record. I was out of sorts here after just attending my grandmother's funeral. I know the mingling of these two events will impact my memory of both forever. I'm glad I was still able to do both and am looking forward to completing another quilt really soon.

With Joy,

Sarah V.
