Belated Birthday Presents are Ready

>> Wednesday, July 24, 2013

The birthday presents are finally ready for 3 of my nieces.
The first one was done awhile ago - the reversible apron on this post.

Lori Holt's bee block was finally made into a pillow with this gorgeous floral in blues.

I found a really quick method for making my pillow cover in this magazine using a fabric panel. The only thing I added (besides building my fabric with a quilt block) was to sew over the inside seams so they won't unravel when it's washed.

The magazine also had a project in it that inspired my third birthday gift.

I used two different blocks from a cute runner to make this summer treats bag.
I was so happy to find this PERFECT ice cream cone fabric!

I then built the bag around the blocks. I think the handle may be too long, but she can always knot it and grow into it.

One more birthday gift to go this week!

Oh so nice those cut little summer bags; for lots of summery treats. Love the paperpiecing. The pillow sure turned out great. Good thinking on the unraveling seams. I'm sure that the recipients will love their gifts!
