Piecing Life Together

>> Saturday, September 29, 2012

It's been a week of travel for me. Finding myself in unfamiliar places. This cabin was along the side of Hwy 69 which we took Tuesday to get from the north to southern Ontario.

We traveled to be with family in Simcoe and bury my grandfather. Less than a block from the funeral home this giant quilt block greeted us.{ We skipped walking in the park and stepping in all the goose droppings from the Canadian geese having a stopover on their travels.}

 Thursday lunch time and this was my view. Almost two hours in a school bus up a logging road and into Sagamok First Nations land. I was supply EA and found myself here at the Fall Harvest.
Found myself in the story.
Found the solace and the circle.
The land and animals and people in harmony.
 Found the beginning of the journey at the end.

Spent a little time yesterday getting back in touch with my fabrics.
I made the pieced block by Harding Hill designer Jessie Kurtz for the Glorious Autumn block party.
I'm really tempted by the bargello block by Amy Gay.

You can catch up on this week's blocks, including mine, by clicking over to the main page of the Glorious Autumn block party at the Quilting Gallery.
