It's Earth Day in Canada - and elsewhere, I'm sure. Reanna Lily Designs has put together a special link up to share the creative ways we use recycled materials in our sewing.

I'm linking to my post about the Denim Purse
I made for my daughter out of her favourite old jeans.
She loves it and gets compliments all the time.

I also re purpose items in my sewing space. Here are 2 ideas that I've been using the longest.

I use plastic strawberry containers to keep fabric scraps sorted.

I use the outside of finished rolls of aluminum foil and cling wrap for storing thread.(After carefully removing the metal edge)

It's the little things. Rethink buying NEW plastic storage when you already have some lying around. New is nice, but how long will it be new before you desire the next new thing?

Save your money for fabric!

With Joy,
Sarah Vee

I'm loving the foil boxes for thread & the clear berry boxes for fabric. I've been using opaque baby wipes boxes for fabric scraps... this is MUCH better. Great ideas.

Great ideas...I love the foil box idea for thread too! How imaginative!

Clever new ways to use your empty containers. Good thing those metal strips are removed. They're wicked!
