It's Raining Blocks and . . . Socks!

>> Thursday, October 22, 2009

One bag finished. This is for my daughter's friend whose birthday is on Halloween.
The main bag fabric is from my daughter's stash, which I try not to envy:) The handle batik fabric was from mine. I prefer to use batik when making straps as it stays folded when making strips meaning I don't have to use the iron for this step:)

I finished another row of blocks. I'm not sure I like them set beside each other. They are quarters of the larger Bear Paw block.
I'm thinking of this arrangement instead with a churn dash between. We'll see what the weekend brings.

What about the socks, you ask?
Pat Sloan is hosting a Quilter's Sock and Shoe Challenge! Here's my sock entry - and my son's too:) Check out the flickr group, you may be amazed at discovering who buys all those funky shoes and socks!

No hope of staying dry here today. It's pouring. Guess we'll stay inside and play - and maybe sew!

With Joy,
Sarah Vee

The bag is just lovely and I can't wait to see your finished quilt. I love those trees! I envy you your rain...we need it so badly down here in So Cal.
